Back in 2021, the BBC approached us looking for a race series to help its Top Gear team conclude an exciting feature piece for one of its episodes. Our Championship was proud to be showcased as the end goal for amateur drivers looking to go racing at a high and competitive level, with Top Gear’s Freddie Flintoff relishing his first race against others with similar experience. The relationship has since continued, with the Top Gear team returning a year later to showcase GT Cup as the closest opportunity for amateur mechanics and drivers to compete on equal terms in sportscar racing.
