Be Part of the Grid: GT Cup 2026 Registration Now Live

Bute Motorsport is pleased to announce that entries for the 2026 GT Cup Championship are now officially open, following another hugely successful season for one of the UK’s leading GT racing Championships.

Looking ahead to 2026, the championship continues its commitment to delivering a friendly, competitive paddock with high track time, strong sporting integrity, and a calendar of the UK’s finest circuits. Several refinements have been introduced for the new season to further enhance the racing experience for teams and drivers.

Key Highlights for 2026

The 2026 season will retain the most popular elements of the championship while introducing a number of developments designed to improve fairness, strategy and driver engagement:

  • Two feature endurance weekends, each featuring a 100-minute race
  • Reduced success seconds for the 50-minute pit-stop race
  • New “enhanced” driver sub-categories to support more accurate grading
  • High levels of track time, consistent across every event
  • Continued emphasis on sporting integrity, safety and a welcoming paddock environment

Full details will be provided in the 2026 Sporting & Technical Regulations, currently undergoing MSUK approval.

For the upcoming season, the championship will have a new Race Director, Andy Stevens, as we say farewell to Simon Gnana-Pragasam and wish him luck in his new role as FIA Race Director for F2 & F3 Championships.

Hannah James, Championship Director, said, “The GT Cup continues to grow in strength, and 2026 feels like another really exciting step forward for us. The updates to the race format and driver classifications are all about creating fair, competitive racing, but just as importantly, keeping the friendly, welcoming paddock that makes this championship special. We’ve listened closely to our drivers and teams, and the 2026 programme reflects what they enjoy most about being part of the GT Cup family. I’m genuinely looking forward to seeing familiar faces return — and to welcoming new ones onto the grid next season.”
