Crucial win for Triple M Motorsport as Lamborghinis Sweep Day One At Snetterton

A vital win for Triple M Motorsport at Snetterton meant they could provisionally begin their GT Cup Championship title celebrations in GTC, sharing Saturday spoils on track with Topcats Racing in two exciting battles.

The two Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo teams both bagged outright successes across an entertaining day of action at the Norfolk circuit, beginning with Fraser Fenwick coming from the pitlane to the front to win after a change to wet tyres in a tricky dry-wet Sprint.

He fended off Triple M Motorsport all the way, but when it came to the Pitstop Race later that afternoon, it would be the latter celebrating glory of their own with outright victory. Titles were wrapped up provisionally in GTC, GTO, and GTH on day one.

Qualifying

After a day of testing on Friday peppered with monsoon-like rain, Saturday's first competitive action was mercifully dry as sunny skies and a gusting wind greeted the field.

With rapid times being put in throughout the two 15-minute sessions, the most intriguing battle was centred around who would be sitting on the GTH top spot by the time the chequered flag came out. 24-7 Motorsport's Charlie Benson was fastest out of the traps initially, but he was under pressure from Jolt's Aaron Cooke and Innovation's Sam Branston.

Each of them had a turn on the hot seat, but as time ran out, it was Benson's late 1m55.155s which proved enough to take pole, Cooke just 0.168sec down in second, with Branston 0.009sec behind in third. Felix Livesey prevailed in an all-Lamborghini battle with Fraser Fenwick, adding more useful points to his Overall title charge alongside Charlie Digby and Triple M's Teams Title battle.

Chris Murphy marked his return to GT Cup by putting his BMW on GTA pole, whilst Paul Bailey and Jamie Falvey took the top spots in GTO and GT3, respectively.

Sprint Race

A burst of heavy rain before the penultimate sprint race of 2026 added extra drama as some teams elected to box for wets and others chose to stick on slicks as the rain ended just as the race went green.

As the teams on wets decided to pit and swap for dry tyres, the weather gods decided another twist was in store as yet another heavy shower deluged the circuit and made conditions especially tricky for the field.

Two drivers enjoying the conditions was Livesey and Fenwick; the pair had started in the pits but on slicks, the latter electing to swap back from wets before the race started. Both in Lamborghini Super Trofeos, the pair were battling hammer and tongs. Fenwick managed to squeeze past Livesey with just over 10 minutes remaining, but the Triple M racer didn't give up easily and was squeezing the nose of his red-and-yellow machine up the inside of the Topcats Lamborghini every opportunity he could.

In a drag race to the finish, Fenwick held on to take the GTC and Overall victories by 0.226sec. GTH proved equally intense, with Sam Branston's charge in the Innovation Racing Ginetta G56 GT4 Evo proving decisive as he pipped 24-7 Motorsport's Charlie Benson to the win by 0.279sec.

There was Ginetta glory in GTA, as Dan Perry took the honours for JTM Engineering. Paul Bailey took the win in GTO, whilst Jamie Falvey did the same in GT3.

Pitstop Race

The weather thankfully took a turn for the better ahead of the 50-minute Pitstop Race later that afternoon. A Team BRIT pole position gave Paul Fullick his chance to shine, and he did just that with a strong start to keep Charlie Digby at bay - the latter now in Livesey's Triple M Lamborghini.

In a mighty performance, Fullick was undeterred as he and Digby pushed to build a gap at the front of the pack. The BMW driver maintained his lead up until the mandatory pitstops, after batting away Digby's best efforts to find a way through to the lead.

Falvey and Livesey took over the leading machines, but the real drama unfolded several minutes later when the Team BRIT driver was forced to stop with an issue on the Bentley Straight, handing the outright lead to the GTC-leading Lamborghini of Livesey.

It proved a crucial moment not just in the race, but also the overall title fight. Livesey brought the #4 car home untroubled for a second outright race victory of the season for himself and Digby, who had provisionally done enough to celebrate a title triumph in GTC.

Second place on the road went to the Team BRIT Ferrari of Neville Voss and Ali Topley, but only just as the GTO Group-winning Mercedes-AMG of Paul Bailey and David Brabham. The latter put on a fine display in the closing stages, rolling back the years by setting a string of rapid laps to also provisionally seal GTO honours for SBR Engineering's #28 car with a vintage display.

GTH was another intriguing contest, won by Jolt Racing thanks to a superb display by Cooke and John Ingram in their McLaren Artura. The group podium was rounded out by a pair of Ginettas, with second going to Innovation Racing to give Branston and James Wareing the provisional group title honours. Third went to the SVG Motorsport G56 of Cameron Pratt-Thompson and Marc Elman.

Chris Murphy meanwhile returned in style to win the GTA group for Woodrow Motorsport, while Innovation Racing's Bryn Calder and Kyle Wells managed to step closer to the group title with a second-place finish as their rivals SVG Motorsport were forced to retire.

#4 Charlie Digby

“Very happy. It was a good race, good to finish it with a nice overall win in the sunset. It was quite nice wasn’t it. Been a pleasure to drive with Felix and the team. The Lamborghini has been brilliant, great fun to drive, shown Felix the ropes and we’ve had some fun - it’s been a great year. The team has been faultless, and also a massive thank you to Grahame Tilley, he had planned to be in the car with myself and I ended being in with Felix but we’ll hopefully see him out in a car soon. Thank you to him for the opportunity this year to work with the team and have him around all year as well.”

#28 David Brabham

“It was a lot of fun, we always had a big penalty in the pits so there’s a lot of time to make back up on track. The car was good, first time we’ve really been able to push it and we can improve it for tomorrow. Really pleased for the team, and for Paul, because we won the GTO championship. We’re just going to keep doing the best we can. No one’s really had time to dial in to the track, we had more grip the last time we were here, the balance wasn’t really where we wanted it so we’ll make some changes.”

#1 Fraser Fenwick

“Right decision at the right time. We initially came in for wets, and then got pushed back in pitlane to the garage to put on slicks. Then just before we went out it started raining again and I didn’t know if we’d made the right choice, but the team made a great choice. They worked really quickly to get everything sorted quickly. We did leave pitlane last but the race worked in our favour. Great battle with Felix, put me under pressure at all times but really happy to finally get away with a win this year. Only done half a season but great to be back on the top step.”
