Hadley Simpson joins Innovation Racing in updated Ginetta for Brands Hatch

Innovation Racing with Cresta will field an upgraded Ginetta G56 as well as a series returnee in Hadley Simpson for the second meeting of the 2025 GT Cup Championship campaign at Brands Hatch GP circuit this weekend (17/18 May).

Team boss Simon Griffiths will be joined in car #30 by rapid youngster Simpson for the coming contests in Kent, the pair having previously raced as a duo in the season finale at Snetterton last season.

In another change for the Brands Hatch outing, the Innovation Racing team - who ran a pair of Ginetta G55 machines in the Donington Park curtain-raiser - also upgrade its GTH entry to a G56 model from the Yorkshire manufacturer. Griffiths and Simpson take on its driving duties, while Brent Millage continues in Group GTA with the team's #54 G55.

Simpson has enjoyed a strong start to his Protyre Motorsport Ginetta GT Championship title challenge, sealing wins on his debut outing in the one-make series.

"I am very excited to get going at Brands Hatch", says Simpson. "I have had a very good start in my Ginetta GT campaign but I’m now looking to extend my knowledge in GT Cup.

"I want to thank Simon Griffiths at Innovation Racing for having the belief in me to put me back in the car and to give me this incredible opportunity, I want to go and maximise this to the best of my ability! The hard work continues."

Driver-Team Owner Griffiths added: "It’s a pleasure welcoming Hadley back into the team, we achieved great results at the finals weekend last year but with us now having the much superior Ginetta G56 we are hopeful Hadley and myself can fight at the front of GTH."

The Innovation Racing squad will be among a packed grid heading to the second round of the season at Brands Hatch this weekend, which returns to the well-known four-race Sprint/Endurance format across both days.
