Race Report for Qualifying Two

Neary nails difficult conditions to nab sprint pole

Conquering tricky track conditions, Sam Neary takes pole position for Sunday’s sprint race. The Team Abba Racing driver threw down the gauntlet early in the session and retained the top spot throughout, ending with a 1:16.131. Lining up alongside the Mercedes on the front row is John Seale in the JMH Automotive Lamborghini. Seale continually improved during the session, finishing less than four tenths slower than the pole time.

A good day for Dan de Zille as he put his Ferrari 488 at the top of the group GTC times for FF Corse. The Ferrari played second fiddle to the Team Webb Lamborghini on Saturday, so de Zille will no doubt be spurred on by this result. A 1.17.729 from Dan saw him finish almost three seconds quicker than Tom Webb.

Again in group GTH, it’s all about Team Hard Racing as Simon Orange comes away with group pole position. A 1:22.304 put the Ginetta just two tenths clear of Steve Ruston’s #44 McLaren. Third quickest in the group were newcomers Feathers Motorsport in their Ginetta G55 GT4.

Less than three tenths separate the two GTB runners, with Saxon Motorsport coming out on top. The BMW 150 GTR beat the Marcos Mantis to the top of the times, though it’s the Mantis that’s come away with better results this weekend so far. While in GTA, the Geoff Steel Racing BMW finds itself running alone.
