Car Eligibility
The GT Cup Championship welcomes a wide range of GT machinery, ensuring competitive racing across multiple performance levels. Cars are grouped by their maximum lap-time potential, allowing different generations and types of GT cars to compete fairly and safely.
If you’re unsure which Group your car fits into, we will be happy to confirm eligibility.
GTO – Open Specification
A flexible category designed for high-performance and specialist GT machinery that sits outside conventional homologation.
Eligible cars include:
- GTE and GT2 specification cars
- Unique or low-volume GT models
- FIA GT3 cars no longer running to their original homologation
- Silhouette or modified GT-style cars
- High-performance one-off builds that meet safety regulations
GTO provides a competitive home for exciting machinery that no longer fits into other championships.
GT3 – FIA GT3 Cars
For current or recently-homologated GT3 machinery running to regulation specification.
Eligible cars include:
- All FIA-homologated GT3 cars (e.g., Lamborghini Huracán GT3, Porsche 992 GT3 R, McLaren 720S GT3, Ferrari 296 GT3)
This Group is ideal for teams and drivers seeking a highly professional GT racing environment.
GTC – Recent Manufacturer Cup / Challenge Cars
Designed for modern, high performance Cup and Challenge models currently racing in single make series, or have within the last five years.
Eligible cars include:
- Ferrari Challenge (296/488)
- Porsche 992 Cup
- Lamborghini Super Trofeo Evo
- Similar one-make or manufacturer Cup cars
GTC offers close competition for drivers stepping up from one-make series.
GTB – Older Cup Cars & Modified GT Vehicles
For older high performance Cup or Challenge cars, no longer eligible for GTC competition, current lower powered Challenge cars, and modified saloon-based GT-style machinery
Eligible cars include:
- Previous-generation Porsche Cup, Ferrari Challenge and Lamborghini Super Trofeo cars
- Ginetta GTP8 or similar
- Modified saloon-based GT cars built to an appropriate specification
GTB gives a competitive home for reliable, well-loved machinery no longer currently in manufacturer series.
GTH
For currently Homologated GT Cars running to the manufacturer's GT4 specification
Eligible cars include:
- Aston Martin Vantage GT4
- McLaren Artura GT4
- Mercedes AMG GT4
- Porsche Cayman GT4 RS Clubsport
- BMW M4 GT4
This is one of the championship’s most popular and competitive Groups.
GTA – Lower-Spec GT Cars
For older Cup / Challenge cars with reduced power, or older manufacturer GT4 models no longer homologated.
Eligible cars include:
- Manufacturer GT4 cars no longer in homologation
- Ginetta G55 Supercup or similar
GTA is ideal for cost-effective GT racing and developing drivers.
