Race Report for Qualifying One

Monster Lap from Chamberlain Nabs Him First Pole Position of the Season

Chamberlain sealed early bragging rights in a competitive 15-minute qualifying session. The Porsche 935 showed no signs of fatigue and set a pole position effort 0.6s better than nearest rival Adrian Wilmott in the BMW M6. JMH enjoyed strong pace with their new Lamborghini Huracan as John Seale grabbed third, ahead of Gibson Motorsport’s McLaren 650S and Wilmott’s Century Motorsport team-mate Dominic Paul.

In GTC, pole position went the way of James Webb with a 1:07.452, a good showing from Webb in their new Huracan, putting them over a second ahead of the rest of the group. Splitting the GTC qualifiers is Warren Gilbert - polesitter for GTB. A 1:08.395 from the Marcos Mantis sits Gilbert just in front of two GTC Ferraris.

Returning duo Steve Ruston and John Whitehouse are clearly settling into their new McLaren as they claimed the fastest time in GTH - more than almost 0.7s quicker than Sam Randon’s Ginetta G55. Team HARD went one better with their second Ginetta however, claiming pole in GTA with Ryan Harper-Ellam and William Phillips.
