Competitor Information for Silverstone GP
Welcome to the fourth event of the 2019 GT Cup Championship as we head to the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit.
Weekend Information
Below you will find all of the information you will require for this event. All information is downloadable from our website www.gtcup.co.uk.
ACCESS INTO CIRCUIT
Teams may access the Garages from 19:00 on Friday 16th August 2019. If you are Testing on the Friday then please follow the instructions issued by Silverstone for access times on the Thursday night (currently 19:00).
I have liaised with Melindi Scott (if you are booked on the Goldtrack Thursday track day) and Jo Ilkin at Silverstone Circuit (If you are testing on the Friday) so you will remain in the same garage for the race weekend.
Please park sensibly we have the bottom half of the National Garages and I have tried to spread the cars evenly however some of the teams will be sharing two to a garage. However they are very large garages and there should be plenty of room.

Co-ordinator will be available from Friday lunchtime at circuit.

MSVR Permanent passes, hospitality passes and car passes for competitors and teams will be available from Hannah James at the Circuit from Friday. These will be checked by Silverstone Security so have them ready when you enter circuit.
TIMETABLE
The GT Cup timetable shows all the timings including the Mandatory Drivers Briefing, track times, Hospitality serving times and Pirelli Tyres opening times.
ALL TIMES ARE PROVISIONAL & MAY BE CHANGED WITHOUT NOTICE. IT IS THE COMPETITORS RESPONSIBILITY TO WATCH THE PROGRESS OF THE MEETING & TO BE IN THE ASSEMBLY AREA NO LATER THAN 20 MINUTES PRIOR TO THE START OF THE QUALIFYING OR RACE. FAILURE TO COMPLY MAY RESULT IN SPACE BEING GIVEN TO RESERVES. IN IDEAL CONDITIONS THE QUALIFYING OR RACING PROGRAMME MAY BE BROUGHT FORWARD BY UP TO 20 MINUTES.
MSVR ISSUED FINAL INSTRUCTIONS
Please take time to read these they will include your directions for noise testing, qualifying, assembly and race.
CHAMPIONSHIP REGULATION CLARIFICATIONS
Driver Order
For Clarification: Pro drivers are not able to set the qualification times.
Sporting Sprint race 13 – Sportsman only driver
Sporting Sprint race 15 – Sportsman only driver
Pit stop race 14 – Sportsman only will drive 1st, sportsman or pro drivers to drive 2nd
Pit Stop race 16 – Sportsman only will drive 1st, sportsman or pro drivers to drive 2nd
TECHNICAL DECLARATION FORM
If you have not yet completed your technical declaration then please could you get this to Phil Boland, Technical Co-ordinator as soon as possible. [email protected] or telephone him on 07836 608615. We need these to ensure cars are correctly classified. Phil will be going round on Friday checking your forms against your cars. This is available on the button below.
TRANSPONDERS
All competitors are required to use a AMB TranX 260 either direct powered or battery transponder. Transponders can be purchased from TSL Timing in advance of the meeting. Tel: 44 (0) 1827 285666
ALL Transponder numbers must be provided to Hannah James before the event by text or email.
DATA LOGGERS
ALL CARS MUST BE USING A WORKING DATA LOGGER THIS WILL BE CHECKED BY OUR ELIGIBILITY SCRUTINEER.

BOP SHEET
Please see the updated provisional BOP Sheet provided by Phil Boland for the GT Cup Championship Issue 19 dated 09/08/19 which he will be running for Silverstone GP. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE SHEET TO ENSURE YOU ARE RUNNING TO CORRECT BOP. Any queries please contact Phil to discuss.
RACE ENGINES
Please note that no race engines must be run
before 08:45 hours or after 18:00 hours on Saturday & Sunday
ENTRY FORMS
All Entry Forms must be completed and signed either online or by hard copy and returned to Hannah James ([email protected]) to enable you to sign on at the meeting.
DECALS
Decals for the Championship will be available at the circuit from Christopher Thorn ([email protected]) please contact him via mobile if you require anything.
CAMERAS
Cameras are mandatory. See the Championship Regulations for details. If you do not have an installed system which is compliant with the regulations please see Hannah who may be able to provide one for you at the circuit for a fee of £100.
RADIOS
Please come prepared with the following information:
5.19 RADIO COMMUNICATION
Cars will be permitted to carry radio transmitters or receivers, for which Ofcom licences will be checked at scrutineering.in compliance with MSA Regulation Q8.1.10 (iii).
AWARDS
Trophies will be presented to the overall winners of each group on the Podium after each of the races. As soon as the race has finished the competitors who come 1st in group are asked to please make their way to the podium to have their awards presented, for photographs and filming for the TV Programme. Trophies will be presented at the end of each day at a presentation at our Race Championship Centre.
PIRELLI
The Pirelli Team will be based in the paddock behind the garages. Please see the GT Cup Timetable for their opening times each day.
Pirelli will take to the race weekend as standard 2 sets of slick tyres and 1 set of wet tyres per car. This is to cover the duration of the event. i.e. test day if attending and both Saturday and Sunday.
