Race Report for Round Six - Pit-Stop
A three-car tussle for the lead of the 50-minute endurance race under sunny skies at Snetterton kept onlookers entertained, as Tom Webb held off fellow Lamborghini Huracan rival John Seale in the pair’s first stint. Sprint race winner Bonamy Grimes held close attentions until mandatory pit stops cycled through, handing over his Ferrari 458 Challenge to Johnny Mowlem who assumed the lead from Jamie Stanley and the battling Webb.
Stanley, having jumped into Seale’s JMH Automotive Huracan, rounded Mowlem’s Ferrari and proceeded to pull clear with a scintillating display of pace, sealing a second endurance race victory of the season and GTO honours ahead of a brace of FF Corse Ferraris. Grimes and Mowlem finished second to seal a second GTC group win of the day, while Adam Carroll grabbed third overall on the final lap from Webb.
GTA enjoyed an intense race-long battle between the Ginettas of Grahame Tilley and Team HARD’s Kris Prosser and Callum Jenkins. The latter assumed the lead in the opening stint, but Tilley soon gained the edge in the pit stop phase to take his first group win of the year.
The GTH group went the way of John Whitehouse again, sharing the McLaren 570 with Steve Ruston and grabbing the advantage over Team HARD's second entry. GTB was again won by the Valour Racing Porsche 991 of David Frankland.
