Battles at Brands - Kent's iconic circuit hosts penultimate GT Cup weekend for 2026

With the bulk of the season over and done with, Brands Hatch plays host to the penultimate round for the GT Cup Championship. A bumper grid of 30 cars head to the Kent circuit for four action-packed races across the weekend.

Several newcomers make their season debut here, including Raceworks Motorsports’ Chris Bingham (Group GTO), Flexifly’s Ernie Graham (Group GTH) and Team Brit’s Bobby Trundley and Aaron Morgan (Group GTA). Familiar faces also make a return in the form of Orange Racing with JMH’s Simon Orange, and Optimum Motorsport’s Morgan Tilbrook – both in Group GT3.

Coming into the weekend, Triple M Motorsport’s Felix Livesey and Charlie Digby lead the way in the overall title fight on a grand total of 326 points. The pair have a 65-point lead over Innovation Racing’s Sam Branston and James Wareing and will no doubt be looking to extend that as the weekend progresses.

With Triple M leading the overall points table, it should come as no surprise that they’re also heading up the Group GTC championship. Over 100 points behind Livesey and Digby sits JMH Automotive’s Frank Morris and James Pickford, who came away from Silverstone with a pair of podium finishes. Third in the points is the DWG Motorsports with Topcats Racing’s Lamborghini Huracan of Jack Gadd and Dan Brown.

Paddock Motorsport’s Tim Docker jumps back into the Group GTC fray with Matthew Cowley as a teammate, while both Team Brit’s Neville Voss and Ali Topley, and Topcats Racing’s Bertie Bream and Fraser Fenwick are back for more.

Group GTH is a little closer at the top, with just over 30 points separating Branston and Wareing from SVG Motorsport’s Marc Elman and Cameron Pratt-Thompson. Both cars came away from Silverstone with a group win, but it was the SVG Ginetta that made the most of the GT Cup 100’s double points. Sitting third in the group is the second Triple M car for Harry Yuill and Rob Garofall.

Elsewhere in GTH, 24-7 Motorsport’s Ben Taylor and Charlie Benson will be looking to build on some strong outings for the rookie duo, Jolt Racing has brought in a new teammate for John Ingram in the form of Aaron Cooke, and the trio of Full Send Racing, Constructive X UBIQ, and Innovation Racing bolster the numbers with invitational entries.

One of the closest title fights, Group GT3 sees just five points splitting the top two. Team Brit’s Jamie Falvey and Paul Fullick currently hold the top spot, but with PB Racing by JMH’s Peter Erceg and Marcus Clutton hot on their heels, this is certainly a group to watch. The pair have extra competition on the circuit this weekend however, as Mark Smith returns to Group GT3 this weekend with a change of steed, swapping his usual McLaren for a Porsche 911 GT3 R. Plus, the addition of Optimum Motorsport and Orange Racing will make Group GT3 a little busier this weekend.

The aforementioned Chris Bingham joins Group GTO in a Porsche Cayman, adding some extra competition for the group. Paul Bailey gains a new teammate for the weekend due to a clash for David Brabham, so Jessica Hawkins jumps aboard the SB Race Engineering Mercedes in her series debut.

SVG Motorsport’s Neil Wallace and Ian Astley currently lead the way in the Group GTA standings, though it’s certainly a slim margin with Innovation Racing’s Bryn Calder and Kyle Wells just seven points behind. Third in the table is Raceworks’ Andrew Perry and Daniel Quintero, still within striking distance of their rivals. Challenging them on the circuit includes JTM Engineering’s Daniel Perry, SVG’s third car in the hands of Dennis Storey and Allan McCullough, and the invitational McLaren 570S of Team Brit.
