Silverstone sets up second GT Cup 100 spectacular of the 2026 season

It’s the return of the GT Cup 100 this weekend as the championship makes its annual visit to the home of British motorsport, Silvestone, for two action-packed races.

The trip to Northampton features our second 100-minute race of the season, the first of which was won by PB Racing by JMH Automotive at Donington Park back in April. Expect a bumper crop of challengers as the GT Cup grid sees a selection of new and returning faces across the groups.

The overall GT Cup Championship is currently headed by the Group GTC points leaders. Triple M Motorsport’s Felix Livesey and Charlie Digby added another three wins to their tally last time out, continuing an exceptional run of form for the duo.

Meanwhile, not content with just one car in their stable, Team BRIT are joining the Group GTC grid with a Ferrari 488 Challenge in the hands of Neville Voss and Ali Topley. Topcats Racing are expanding their fleet this weekend too as reigning champion Fraser Fenwick joins forces with Bertie Bream in a second Lamborghini Huracan.

Coming out of Donington Park with two wins apiece, both Team Brit (Jamie Falvey/Paul Fullick) and PB Racing with JMH Automotive (Peter Erceg/Marcus Clutton) will have to fend off new faces as Greystone GT and Team Parker Racing join the GT3 fray.

With the return of AF Corse UK’s Sean Ran and Josh Steed with their Ferrari 296 Challenge, Group GTO sees some extra competition for veterans Paul Bailey and David Brabham, and TrueMix Racing’s Tom Walpole and Marc Kemp.

Group GTH is certainly one to watch after a cracking first half of the season. A clean sweep of victories at Donington Park has catapulted Innovation Racing’s Sam Branston and James Wareing to the top of the leaderboard. Though Triple M Motorsport’s Harry Yuill, now reunited with teammate Rob Garofall, sit just 21 points adrift. New to the group this weekend is an invitational entry from Full Send Racing featuring Steve Lloyd and Tom Wood aboard an Aston Martin Vantage GT4.

SVG Motorsport’s Neil Wallace and Ian Astley currently lead the way in the Group GTA standings, though a solid showing from Innovation Racing (Bryn Calder/Kyle Wells) last time out has helped close the gap. Both JTM Engineering and Raceworks Motorsport make a welcome return this weekend following absences at Donington. Two invitational entries bolster the group too - a third Team BRIT piloted by Asha Silva and Noah Crosby, and WDC Racing’s McLaren 570 GT4 in the hands of Neil Garnham and Matt Le Bretton.

A feast of endurance racing action kicks off officially on Saturday morning, leading up to the first 50-minute Pitstop Race at 15:15 that afternoon. Sunday then plays host to the big one - the GT Cup 100 - at 13:05, with both races aired live and for free on our YouTube channel.
